Chapter 9: Amber's Brother

"Request eknolaged. Stand by." The AI said.

TAD stepped toward the gate to await the opening. The drones' weapons lowered to their parallel state.

There was a sound of metal creaking and gears clanking and the 2 ft thick steel doors slowly opened.

"Amber!!" Bill said as he ran to meet her. Then he saw TAD. "Wait it is you right?" He asked stoping a few feet away.

"Oh I'm sorry I forgot I'm in TAD." Amber said. "Hey how do you open this thing?"

"TAD? Who is that?" Bill asked.

"He's the robot I'm inside of." Amber said.

"Simple as that." TAD's chest area opened at the same time, to let Amber out. "If this means you will stay here, I must go. My mission is of great importance." the drones rolled up to view/scan the area.

"No I wish to come. Bu I just want to see my brother with my own eyes." Amber said.

"Glad your ok Amber." Bill huged Amber.

"Bill why don't you come with us to find the Artic Lab?" Amber asked.

"I know just the perfict thing to get there faster than walking. Will you please follow me TAD and Amber." Bill said.

Amber noded, got out of TAD and began to follow Bill.

The opening closed up and TAD stood to follow after the humans, "I am quite capable of reaching my destination in a matter of days, but now that I have allies it has added to about two weeks. What could you have in this worn city that could help speed up my mission?" it placed the large sword on the back clamp, next to the coil. The drones close behind, recognized and cataloged each person they passed.

Bill lead them to a large hanger with some typ of cover covering a large unknown machine. He walked up to it. "Well this could reach that base within a few hours." Bill said pulling off some covers to a huge gunship. (If you saw Avatar the gun ship is similar to the fighters.)

"Woh!!! Now that's big." Amber said pointing at one of the main machine guns on the front of the ship.

"She'll do just past mach 4." Bill said touching one of the four jet engines. "She's an old war bird but she'll get you there within a few hours." He said. "She has a similar type of weaponry system as your friend TAD over there has on and his drones except a more powerful callber type." he said.

TAD walked over to rotate one of the turrets, "Largest rounds these barrels can carry are 600 Nitro Expresses. Put holes in tank up to 250 yards, possibly rip a humans arm off from the riffle." stepping over to the larger barrel, "Now this... This is new to me." turning to Bill with the hand on the edge of the barrel, "What does this fire?"

"That one fires a unique type of amo. It fires X class armor piercing rocket propeled bunker busters." He opened up the amo compartment and took out a piece of amo. The bullet casing was almost as big as his for arm and the bullet itself was about the size of his foot. "It's an expermintal weapon but we had to use it on more than one ocasion. You see this on the tip of the bullet?" He said touching a black tip. "It's the tracker that allows it to be fired off target and it corrects itself before it hits the target from several miles away." He said. "This is accurate to within a few inches."

"Woh! That's amazing Bill." Amber said.

"Hey do you want to fire off a round?" Bill asked. "We've got a fireing range here." He said. "Plus I love shooting big guns like this baby." Bill said as he pated the side of the Cannon.

"Negative. As affective as you explained, this weapon must be used against the queen. Might be the only effective against her hide. Only then will I test fire such a round." TAD stepped over to the large round, "Not the largest round I've seen, but probably the most advanced... Lets get this ship in the air." TAD walked to the back-side of the ship, "Any pilots here?" TAD called out to all who could hear him.

"Your looking at him." Bill said. "We have plenty of these rounds and we always make more when ever we get into a battle with demons." He said.

"Good, a co-pilot is always a necessity... We should have enough ammo to keep the queen from interfering." TAD stepped up the back ramp into the ship, "Load up, we leave in five minutes. I need to assess myself with these systems." it made its way to the cockpit.

"Hey Buch fuel up the X-5 Assulte Ship. We are going to the artic research lab." Bill said.

"Yes sir." Buch said as he ran to get the fuel truck and some people to help load the X-5 up with fuel and munition.

"The port should be right..." TAD scanned the controls, "Ah, there." Instert me into the system of this ship. Go to stand by, leave control open for manual use."

Removing alternate AI Zexu. TAD reached back to grab a small chip from a slide hidden under a small plate on its back. It then inserted the chip into a port in the controls.

The controls lit up a bright blue as TAD kneeled down with the chest piece open. "These systems are quite old. Everything seems to be in place. Now lets warm her up a bit." The multy barrel turrets rotated quickly, "Connections are good, no loose wires. The humans know how to take care of an old war plane. Though there don't seem to be any sensors on this thing. No motion tracker, no heat sensor, no zoom variable programs, and only three cameras. Well let's fire the engines, keep them toasty." The ship started up, and the engines raised power. Setting the thrusters to a low burn. "Ooo, built for speed ehh. Can't wait to demolish a hoard of those things." The ship powered down, but the lights stayed on inside.

"It's an aircraft that was in develement before the war but we had to stop develement because of the Deamonds." Bill said. The craft learched forward. "Hey Amber strap yourself in it's going to be a bumpy ride." He said.

Amber buckeled herself in.
